ATIKU’S POLICE ORDERLY, WIFE AND SON ABDUCTION-ONE IN MANY KIDNAPPING EPISODES

The incidents of kidnapping across the country have assumed a threatening dimension, with more17 ways to avoid being kidnapped - News Express Nigeria reports of abductions occurring lately, this has led to unprecedented apprehension among the citizenry, affecting business trips and many other economic activities with the potential of further keeping the country longer in the current recession including serious threats to the lives and properties of Nigerians.

The abduction of the policeman attached to the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, alongside his wife and son, is one among the many cases of insecurity facing the nation and is a call for the government to take adequate measures to bring an end to them.

More than ever, the security agencies need to step up the fight against this menace. Citizens are equally urged to report suspicious movements and activities thus helping them to arrest the ugly trend.

Other security flashpoints in other parts of the country for the week ended 27th Nov. 2020 indicate the following;

Kaduna:

  • 24th 2020, Report has it thatTeen 'rape' charge against two teens - Telegraph India a 6year old girl was allegedly defiled by a 50 year old neighbor at Hanyi
    Danmusa, Rigasa in Kadunasouth LGA of the state. The little girl has been discharged from the hospital after being treated for cuts and bruises in her private part.

Katsina:

  • 24th 2020, Gunmen attacked Gidan Nayawa in Danmusa LGA of Katsina state, where at least 5 persons were reportedly killed and animals stolen.

Jigawa:

  • 25th 2020, Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Monday invaded the home of Ringim LGA secretary in Jigawa state and abducted his daughter Saratu, two weeks to her wedding, investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstance of the abduction with a view to ascertain whether it was a kidnap incident.

Ondo:

  • 27th 2020,Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, shot dead, a frontline traditional ruler in Ondo state, the Olufon of Ifon town in Ose LGA, it was gathered that the first class monarch was returning from Akure where he attended a meeting of Obas, the traditional ruler ran into the kidnappers who laid ambush on the highway,

Citizens and corporate organizations are strongly advised to exercise caution in their day to day activities including overland travels and report suspected cases to the security authorities.
