On 07th January 2025, suspected gunmen believed to be members of a cult group shot dead a prominent chieftain of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), Fisayo Oladipo, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, acknowledge the development. On 06th January 2025, Operatives of the FCT Police Command arrested a woman for dumping her newborn baby at an uncompleted building in Maple, a suburb of Abuja. On 07th January 2025, credible information has it that two persons were killed and two others injured in a suspected bomb explosion that occurred at an Islamiyah School located at Kuchibiyu community in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital territory (FCT), Abuja. The FCT spokesperson of the command, Josephine Adeh, acknowledged the incident. On 07th January 2025, Report has it that the FCT police command has arrested 50 suspects for allegedly vandalizing manholes at various streets of Abuja, the nation’s capital. CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu confirmed the arrest. On 07th January 2025, Operatives of the Vigilantes napped a herder identified as Dan Wakili for allegedly being in possession of a stolen sheep at Kwali main market. A Vigilante member simply identified as Barnabas, confirmed the arrest, said the incident happened around 1430hrs. On 08th January 2025, report has it that a motor accident along the Akwanga-Abuja Road claimed the lives of a family of four. Emmanuel Angbiandoo, elder brother confirmed by incident. On 09th January 2025, following an intelligence gathering the operatives of the FCT Police Command apprehended a J5 Peugeot bus driver with registration number MKC 283 ZJ for allegedly trafficking 59 children from Kano to Nasarawa. The Police Commissioner, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, confirmed the arrest. On 09th January 2025, two passengers were injured following a station wagon Volkswagen car crashed into a ditch near NIPCO filing station in Abaji along the Abuja-Lokoja highway. An official of the FRSC who part of the rescue team, but preferred anonymity confirmed the accident. On 10th January 2025, report has it that a midnight fire has killed a 24-year-old woman identified as Jumai Sunday and her one-year-six month’s son Nasir Rabiu, at Kugbo furniture market in the Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). |
