On 13th January 2025, gunmen killed a notable farmer, Terzungwe Shaku in Akor village of Guma Local Government of Benue State after his family paid a 5.4 million ransom to secure his release. The spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, said she does not yet have any information about the incident. On 16th January 2025, following an intelligence gathering by the Benue State Police Command, three suspects from different locations of the state have been apprehended for alleged involvement in arms manufacturing for kidnapers and armed robbers. The State Commissioner of Police, Steve Yabnet, acknowledged the development. On 17th January 2025, an accident incident occurred as a truck rammed into a residential building in Okete community of Ohimini LGA, claiming the lives of 14 people including 6 family members with others injured. The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Benue State, Steve Ayodele, confirmed the incident. |

On 14th January 2025, Boko Haram terrorist invaded killed at least 40 farmers with many others injured around 1500hrs in Dumba community in Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State. Adam Yusuf, who escaped the attack, says the terrorists operation lasted for more than 3hrs. Borno State Government confirmed the incident. On 15th January 2025, information has it that Boko Haram terrorists attacked Shikarkir community and Bazir community in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, killing two people, burning a church and houses and destruction of other valuables worths millions of naira. The Public Relations Officer of the Police Command, ASP Nahum Daso, confirmed the insurgent attacked. On 16th January 2025, the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters reportedly ambushed soldiers and civilians on a mission to recover the corpses of 40 farmers killed at Dumba in Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State. An unspecified number of soldiers and 54 joined civilian forces comprising hunters, vigilantes and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force were still unaccounted for. |

On 13th January 2025, operatives of the Edo State Police Command arrested three suspects for allegedly gang-raping a 12 -old girl in Okpella community in Etsako East LGA of the State. The State Commissioner of Police, Umoru Ozigi, disclosed the arrest in Benin the State Capital. On 14th January 2025, information has it that a woman simply identified as Mrs. Abigail Oluwarotimi (31), has been apprehended by police operatives for allegedly inflicting injuries on her 15-year-old maid’s genital and other part of his body in Uromi Esan Southeast LGA of Edo State. |

On 17th January 2025, bandits, wielding AK-47 rifles, and in large number invaded and killed one person and abducted 10 others in Badoko village of Kachia LGA, Kaduna State. The Community leader confirmed the abduction. |

On 13th January 2025, following an intelligence gathering, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), acknowledge one of its border facilities in Kangiwa Local Government Area of Kebbi State has come under attack with four killed. The service spokesman, DCI Kennith Udo, confirmed the incident. On 15th January 2025, credible information has it that the Kebbi State Police Command apprehended three members of the Lakurawa terrorist group while offering a 1.6-million-naira bribe to its lead investigator. SP Nafiu Abubakar, the command spokesman confirmed the arrest. |

On 15th January 2025, a trailer carrying passengers and cattle crashed around Zone 8 Roundabout, Lokoja, capital of Kogi State, six people killed, with over 60 others sustaining various degrees of injuries. The Kogi State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Mr. Samuel Oyedeji confirmed the accident. On 16th January 2025, following an intelligence gathering by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), arrested two persons identified as Yakubu Mohammed and Rabiu Suleiman, over alleged vandalism of antenna (mast) at Okumi area in Lokoja, the capital of the state. On 13th January 2025, report has it that detectives from the Lagos State Command apprehended three young men, over the death of their Facebook lover in the Surulere are of the state. the Commissioner of Polce, Lagos State, Olanrewaju Ishola, confirmed the arrest by gallant men of Tactical Team of Area C. On 14th January 2025, credible information has it that three staff of Don Maserati Classic Boutique, in Lagos Island have been apprehended on orders of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, for allegedly assaulting a female staff of the boutique. On 14th January 2025, operatives of police force in Lagos charged 41-year-old man, Patrick Onyegbule, before a Badagery Chief Magistrates’ Court, over the alleged defilement of his daughter. The prosecutor, Insp. Ayodele Adeosun. Confirmed that the defendant committed the offence. |

On 13th January 2025, armed gunmen, suspected to be herders invaded killed nine people and injured many others around 2000hrs in the Tattara community of the Panda Development Area of Karu LGA of Nasarawa State. A resident who wished to remain anonymous, said the attackers invaded the community, firing shorts indiscriminately at the residents. On 16th January 2025, credible gathering has it that the Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Nasarawa State Command, apprehended an octogenarian, Ibrahiim Haruna (85), for allegedly defiling a 4-year-old in Kongo community of Keffi LGA in the state. On 16th January 2025, it was gathered that seven farmers have lost their lives in an auto crash along the Kutigi-Batati stretch of the Bida-Mokwa Road in Lavun LGA. According to eyewitnesses, the accident had a head-on collision involving a dark blue Toyota with an unregistered white truck at Panti village in an attempted to overtake an oncoming trailer. |

On 14th January 2025, two persons have been shot dead, with properties worth millions of naira destroyed in a violent communal clash between indigenes of Owake and Ebo communities in the Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo State. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wilfred Afolabi, confirmed the clashed. On 13th January 2025, operatives of the Plateau State Police Command apprehended three suspected armed robbers in Laplak village of Pil-Gani District of Langtang North LGA of the State. The Police Commissioner, CP Emmanuel Adesina, confirmed the arrest. said, arms and ammunitions were recovered from the suspects. On 14th January 2025, report has it that a tragic accident at the Kwana Maciji area in the Pankshin LGA of Plateau State, claimed the lives of 19 people and Injured 11 others who came for a wedding ceremony in the state. The Chairman of the Pankshin Local Government Area Emergency Management Committee, John Dasar, confirmed the accident. On 17th January 2025, following an intelligence gathering, troops of the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army and Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), apprehended 15 suspected bandits and kidnappers, rescued 18 kidnap victims and recovered arms and ammunition in villages in Plateau and Taraba States and Southern Kaduna. On 15th January 2025 following an attacked by armed hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers, a Hilux Van convoy carrying two company workers including a foreign expatriate plunged into the Okulu River while fleeing from kidnappers along the Eleme section of the East-West Road in River State. The Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. Brain Gokpa, confirmed the incident and mobilized a rescue team to the scene. |

On 13th January 2025, suspected herders reportedly invaded a Guinea corn farm, hacked a farmer to death and allegedly raped a woman at Paikon Bassa community in Gurdi Ward of Abaji Area Council of the FCT. A resident identified as Wokili Bala, confirmed the incident, said it happened around 1130hrs. On 14th January 2025, a 27-year-old woman identified as Suwaiba has been arrested for allegedly attempting to dump her born baby at an uncompleted building at Tipper Garage in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. On 14th January 2025, following an intelligence gathering by the security operatives, a Gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, has been napped by police operative with the severed head of a woman identified as his girlfriend. The Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrest. On 15th January 2025, police operatives of the FCT Police Command arrested thee suspects and recovered more manhole covers firearms and other exhibits during raids at some black spots in Jabi Panteka, Apo-Waru Panteka, Area1 (Monkey village) Durumi village and other areas in the territory. CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, Confirmed. On 15th January 2025, report has it that a 47-year-old vulcanizer, Saheed Ganiyu, has been arrested for allegedly setting his lover identified as Esther 32-year-old ablaze in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The FCT Police Commissioner confirmed the arrest. On 16th January 2025, a commercial cyclist identified as Hussain Gambo has been killed by suspected hoodlums in a ditch near Pegi community in Kuje Area Council of the FCT. A member of the vigilante, Yakubu Gambo, confirmed the incident. |
