STATES SECURITY INCIDENCES_
BAYELSA ·       On 18th July. 2024, information revels that some youths in Amassoma, the host community of Niger Delta University (NDU), located in the Wilberforce Island axis of the community, allegedly killed a final year student of Social Science Education, Francis Palowei, over N150 levy at a sand dump, a popular relaxation spot. The spokesman of the University Mr. Ndoni Igezi, confirmed the incident, described it as unfortunate, stating that police were on top of the situation.
BENUE

·       On 16th July. 2024, report has it that, at least 12 people were killed and many injured following a fresh attack on the Egwuma community in Agatu LGA of Benue State. It was reported armed invaders besieged the community around 4pm, shooting sporadically at unarmed residents. The State’s Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Cathrine Anene, confirmed the incident.

·       On 16th July. 2024, armed herders killed an Internally Displaced Person (IDP), identified as Ikyumbu Aondowase (30), while returning from his farm in Tse-Iyo village in Sengev Council Ward in Gwer West LGA of Benue State. A former manager of the Agagbe IDP Camp in Gwer West, Ibaah Jacob, confirmed the incident.

BORNO ·       On 19th July. 2024, operatives of Borno State Police Command have arrested Mr. Usakahyel Adamu, 24-year-old man, in Kwaya-Kusar LGA for allegedly killing his 90-year-old grandfather. Also, a 40-year-old woman Lydia Aji, arrested for striking her husband with an axe during a fight leading to his death at Kautikari village of Chibok LGA of Borno State. The command’s spokesman, ASP Nahum Daso, confirmed arrest.
DELTA ·       On 19th July. 2024, operatives of the Delta State Police Command apprehended three suspects, Tega Dierunaba (44), Chibuike Anuforo Cosmas (42) and Sunday Moses Pam (36), over alleged manufacturing of arms and gunrunning. The spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest. He added that a fabricated AK-47 rifles was recovered from a member of the gang.
EDO

·       On 15th July. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that operatives of the Edo State Police Command arrested a man, Apalobi Daniel, for alleged strangulating his neighbour’s wife, Mrs. Celine Proft Lucky, to death in Ogbboyokho community during a fight.  The State Police spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the arrest.

·       On 16th July. 2024, operatives of the Edo State Police Command recused a kidnapped pastor, Precious O. Oyioku, and recovered an AK-47 rifle and other arms from his kidnappers after a gun battle. The state’s police spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the development.

JIGAWA ·       On 17th July. 2024, information has it that 14 persons lost their life in a Toyota Hiace car crash on the Kanya highway with four others hospitalised. DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the Command Public Relations Officers, confirmed the accident. he stated that an investigation into the incident has been initiated, focusing on the suspected reckless driving of the Toyota Hiace driver.
KADUNA

·       On 15th July. 2024, report has it that, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says the Air Component of Operation whirl Stroke has eliminated scores of terrorists in recent airstrikes in their enclaves at Giwa and Igabi local government Area of Kaduna State. The Director, Public Relations and Information NAF, AVM Edward Gabkwet. Disclosed in a statement.

·       On 15th July. 2024, bandits invaded and raided shops, abducted 13 people, including two women, shot and injured three others, in Akwando community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A resident, Shuaibu Ahmed, confirmed the incident and said the bandits in their large numbers set a house and two shops ablaze, he said bandits operates more than two hours unchallenged.

·       On 16th July. 2024, soldiers shot dead suspected bandit informant and arrested one other during a raid in Wolijo and Maraba communities in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State. A Resident of Kagarko, Usman Sarki, confirmed the development, He added ‘’ one of the suspected bandit informants tried to escape and the troops opened fire on him. Kaduna State Police Command Spokesman, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the incident.

·       On 17th July. 2024, information has it that a ginger farmer, Alhaji Awallu, reportedly shot dead by armed bandits in Dagwagwar village and proceeded to neighbouring Gidan-Busa village along Abuja-Kaduna highway, where they reportedly abduct six family members.  ASP Hassan Mansur, the spokesman Kaduna State Police Command, was yet to confirm the incident.

·       On 18th July. 2024, armed men suspected to be bandits reportedly killed one person identify as Mohammed Bashir (Govinda), Chaiman of the Tudun Wada, Zaria Butchers Association, four others abducted at Kasuwar Magani in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State. ASP Hassan Mansur, the spokesman Kaduna State Police Command, could not be reached at the time of filing this report.

·       On 18th July. 2024, report has it that the Village Head of Kurmin-Kare, Ishaya Barnabas, reportedly killed and three other residents abducted in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State following an early morning attack by gunmen. It was reported that the attackers invaded the village on motorcycles and headed to the chiefs’ house and shot him dead before proceeding to a neighbour’s house and abducting three residents.

KANO ·       On 17th July. 2024, report has it that the driver of the truck that crushed 12 worshippers and injured many others during Friday prayers in Imawa in Kura LGA of Kano State, Murtala Abdullahi Azare, has reportedly been remanded in prison.
KOGI ·       On 18th July. 2024, report has it that a joint security team comprising the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Vigilante Group has apprehended eight people suspected of belonging to a secret society and engaging in illicit drug trafficking at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. The Director, Public Relations and Protocol at the Institution, confirm the arrest.
KWARA ·       On 19th July. 2024, 14 suspected killers of the traditional ruler of Koro, a community in Ekiti LGA of Kwara State were reportedly arrested and arraigned at the State High Court over kidnapping his wife Olori Iyabo Aremu, and culpable homicide. They were all arraigned before Justice Umar Zikir.
LAGOS

·       On 15th July. 2024, following a credible intelligence received from the public, detectives from Ijora Badia Police Division of Lagos State Police Command arrested a 37-year-old man Afeez Olayiwola, during a raid on some lotto game shops allegedly used by criminal gangs to hide weapons, who was allegedly found to be in possession of a bag containing fake US dollars. The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest.

·       On 15th July. 2024, report has it that following a referral letter dated July 1, 2024, and addressed to the Commissioner of Police (CP), Adegoke Fayoade, by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violent Agency, an Asisstant Superintendent of Police (ASP), simply identified as Owolabi, has been arrested for allegedly defiling 17-year-old girl in his office in the Ojota Police Station in Lagos State. The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest.

·       On 17th July. 2024, police operatives intercepted a member of a car stanching syndicate, Isaiah Ojode, who allegedly bolted away with a Toyota Corolla belonging to an Uber driver in Lagos State. The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest.

·       On 19th July. 2024, suspected hoodlums killed a 45-year-old vigilante, simply identified as Oluwafemi, for allegedly preventing them from picking disposed frozen poultry products at a dump site in the Epe area of Lagos State. In response to the incident, the Lagos State Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, saying the victim was rushed to the Epe General Hospital where he eventually died.

OGUN ·       On 15th July. 2024, following a technical investigation by the anti-squad team of Ogun State Police Command have exhumed the corpses of kidnap victims from a shallow grave and arrested two suspects, Chukwuma Bartholomew and Igwe Monday, in Ijebu Igbo in Ijebu North LGA. The spokesman of the command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest.
OSUN ·       On 19th July. 2024, three suspected members identified as Olabode Owoeye (32), Mukaila Lateef (45) and David Samuel (26) of a secret cult for kidnapping and killing two victims apprehended by the operatives of the Osun State Police Command. The state’ police spokeswoman, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the arrest.
PLATEAU

·       On 15th July. 2024, information has it that a classroom building collapsed trapping hundreds of students in Saint Academy Located in Busa Buji community in Jos City, Plateau State while sitting for exams. Authorities confirmed that 22 school children were killed while 73 injured in the incident.

·       On 15th July. 2024, credible intelligence gathering has it that the operatives of the Plateau State Police Command neutralized one bandit, arrested bandit and recovered one Ak47 rifle with Breach No.5509100, loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62 live ammunition and cattle were successfully recovered in Kissayhip B Methodist community in Bassa LGA. The Commissioner of Police (CP), Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, confirmed the development in the state capital while parading the suspect.

YOBE

·       On 17th July. 2024, operatives of the Yobe State Police Command, in collaboration with vigilante members, raided a gang’s enclave in Kasda hamlet near Yauro village in Jakusko LGA, rescued a kidnap victim, and apprehended two suspected kidnappers identified as Adamu Dimdo, 23 and Idi Dimdo, 25. The Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the operation. He said two AK 47-rifles were recovered.

·       On 19th July. 2024, information has it that resident of Anguwar Jaji area in Potiskum, Yobe State, apprehended and hand three suspected thieves to NSCDC while raiding an uncompleted clinic. The NSCDC office in Jigawar-Potiskum District, the 12C, Salisu Madu confirmed the incident.

ZAMFARA ·       On 16th July. 2024, report has it that, armed bandits killed four people and 150 others abducted including two babies aged six and eight months in an attack on Dan Isa village, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State. The Resident who preferred anonymity said, bandits besieged the community around 3pm, operating for hours led by a notorious bandit called Alhaji Shehu Bagiwa. The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, confirmed the incident.
FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT)

·       On 15th July. 2024, information has it that a Police Inspector, identified as Hussaini Umar, who was attached to the Force Intelligence Bureau has reportedly been killed by suspected “one chance” robbers, he was said to have boarded the criminals’ vehicle from the Maitama Junction along the Murtala Muhammad way on his way home in Dei-Dei community in Abuja in the FCT. Contacted, the FCT Police Command’s spokesman, SP Josephine Adeh, promised to make an inquiry and revert.

·       On 16th July. 2024, five residents of Yangoji, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, abducted by armed gunmen and shot Alhaji Musa Majaga, in the process, a resident identified as Abdullahi, said the incident happened around 12am. Meanwhile, the spokeswoman of the FCT police command SP Josephine Adeh, promised to revert on the incident.

·       On 16th July. 2024, report has it that, couple identified as Alhaji Musa Baba and his wife Fatima Baba, reportedly crushed by a Mercedes Benz car while on their way to the farm on a motorcycle in Abaji Area Council of the FCT. It was gathered that officials of the FRSC who arrived at the scene, evacuated the corpse to the hospital.

·       On 18th July. 2024, three motorcycles (Bajaj) have been reportedly stolen by hoodlums during a downpour in the Unguwar Abattoir and Dodo areas in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. It was reported that the hoodlums invaded areas around 11 pm. The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh said she would enquire about the incident.
