STATES SECURITY INCIDENCES_
BAUCHI ·         On 16th September. 2024, following a complaint received from three complaint Bauchi State Police Command arrested a dismissed soldier Aliyu Adamu, on charges of impersonation, cheating and breach of trust. The spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Muhammed Wakil, confirmed this in a statement.
BENUE

·         On 16th September. 2024, the Makurdi Magistrate Court, ordered the remand of one Adera Sunday, accused of defiling his 16-year-old daughter. It was gathered earlier that the police prosecutor Inspector James Ewache told the court that the teenager reported to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Makurdi, about her stepfather taking sexual advantage of her since she was 13years without her consent by luring her into taking noxious drugs and while under the influence forcefully takes advantage of her.

·         On 19th September. 2024, the Police Command in Benue State were said to have quelled a clash between suspected cult groups in Makurdi. Spokeswoman of the command, SP Catherine Anene, disclosed saying the law enforcement officers intervened to restore calm she further assured the public that the situation was under control and that there was no need to panic.

DELTA

·         On 18th September. 2024, Delta State Police Command napped on Anthony Godday with 930 round or rounds of Ak-47 ammunition. The spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe disclosed, said the suspect was arrested by the anti-crime patrol team of the Aboh Division.

·         On 18th September. 2024, credible gathering has it that five suspects in connection with the kidnapping of a 70-year-old woman and the collection of a N7.9 million ransom reportedly arrested by the operatives of the Delta State Police Command. The spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest, said they confessed to the kidnapping of the septuagenarian. He said one Moniepoint and one Opay POS machines, as well the sum of N450,000 collected as ransom was recovered.

·         On 19th September. 2024, report has it that a gang of robbers took advantage of a torrential downpour to invade the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) secretariat in Asaba, Delta State, making off with an air conditioning unit and causing significant damage. Comrade Chochil Oyowei, Chairman of the NUJ Delta State Council, confirmed the attack and urged security agencies to conduct swift investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.

·         On 19th September. 2024, it was reported that the Delta state Police command has arrested two men Olisa Emenoha (26) and Iteke Uchenna (26), for alleged theft of cars. Spokesman SP Edafe Bright, confirmed the arrest and said the preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were serial car snatchers.

·         On 20th September. 2024, report has it that the Delta State Polce Command have arrested a 43- year -old man, Ovoke Enaike, over illegal possession of a cartridge and 38 rounds of AK-47 ammunition. The spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe, said that the suspect was arrested in Ehewerhe village during a stop and search operation. He said effort were made to arrest the suspect’s gang members and recover more arms.

EBONYI ·
EDO ·         On 18th September. 2024, operatives of the Edo State Police Command gunned down a suspected kidnapper while he was negotiating for ransom and rescued the victim. EKITI ·         On the 19th of September 2024, it was reported that the Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned 6 men in Ado-Ekiti magistrate court over engaging in public fight. The magistrate Mr. Abayomi Adeosun granted bail in the sum of N20,000 each with a surety in the like sum and adjourned the case to October 18.
IMO ·         On 17th September. 2024, police operatives have successfully repelled an attack on the Njaba Divisional Headquarters but suspected members of the prescribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN. The Imo State Commissioner of Police confirmed the incident during a briefing in Owerri. He added that during the operation, security forces recovered evidence, including one General Purpose Machine Gun, one AK-47 rifles, and three vehicles.
JIGAWA ·         On the 19th of September 2024, it was reported that at least 15,000 people displaced by the recent flooding in Jigawa state have taken shelter in 45 primary and secondary schools converted into internally displaced persons (IDP) camps.
KADUNA

·         On 18th September. 2024, soldiers have foiled the abduction of some passengers on the Abuja-Kaduna highway near Gandan-Malam, a few kilometers away from Don-Fili community in Kaduna State. A community leader in the local confirmed the incident, said it happened around 1800hrs.

·         On 20th September. 2024, report has it that some suspected hoodlums have killed two farmers and escaped with their motorcycles in Kurmin- Kare village in Kachai LGA Kaduna State. it was learned that the bandits were escaping after soldiers raided their camp in Chigbolu and rescued 13abducted victims. The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police command, ASP Hassan Mansur could not be reached for comment on the incident.

KANO

·         On 17th September. 2024, 26 suspected mobile phone snatchers and armed robbers apprehended, and 126 stolen mobile phones recovered. Spokesman of the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed in a statement.

·         On September 19, 2024, it was reported that the police arraigned one Abubakar Kurna in a magistrate court at nomansland in Fagge LGA over the alleged murder of his fiancée, Najaatu Ahmad. The magistrate, Huda Haruna, ordered his remand in a correctional center till November 21 as the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the case.

·         Also on 19th September 2024, report has it that a magistrate court sentenced two men Murray Modelo and Ejike Igwe to six years in prison each over the illegal possession and sales of arms, the magistrate, Shaf’iu Hamza delivered the sentence to the said convicts over the stealing and selling of an AK-47 rifle. However, they were given of N50,000 fine on each of the three count charges of conspiracy to commit crime, illegal possession and sale of a weapons.

·         On 19th September 2024, it was reported that a woman has been arraigned in a Kano state magistrate court sitting in Noman land for allegedly poisoning the one-year-old son of her co-wife. The prosecution counsel, Barrister Abdussalam Dan Maidaki Sale said the offence was contrary to section 221 of the penal code. However, for lack of jurisdiction, the magistrate, Hajara Safiya Hamza, adjourned the case to October 300, and ordered her remand in a correctional centre.

·         On 20th September. 2024, the operatives of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) arrested a 20-year-old man, Mujahid Idris, who broke into two houses and stole foodstuff and other items in Mariri Gadon Arewa in Kumbotso LGA of Kano State. The VGN Commander in Kumbosto, Sani Abdullahi Abubakar, confirmed, he said that the suspect hard been on the run for a week, said, we finally caught him.

KWARA

·         On 19th September. 2024, credible gathering has it that the Kwara State Police Command had disclosed the release of one Emeka Nwachukwu, a businessman abducted by bandits from his home in Kosubosu town, of Baruten LGA. The police spokeswoman in the state Toun Ejire-Adeyemi who confirmed the release said the police are still after the kidnappers, but no arrest has been made yet. Meanwhile, it was report that the victim was released after the payment of N10m to the kidnappers in the bush around 0300hrs.

 

LAGOS ·         On 19th September. 2024, report has it that Lagos state environmental sanitation corps has arrested 30 miscreants, including a female in Oshodi. The commissioner for environment and water resources Tokumbo Wahab in a post on X formerly known as Twitter, said the suspects were immediately arraigned in a magistrate court sitting in the Bolanle area where 12 given 3 weeks imprisonment each while the rest were given community service.
NIGER

·         On 17th September. 2024, operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) neutralized two suspected bandits and arrested many others in Hayin-Nasara community, off the Abuja-Kaduna highway in Tafa LGA of Niger State. The spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, said the command was yet to be briefed about the development.

·         On 20th September. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that police have found a bag containing ammunition suspecting to belongs to kidnappers in Tafa LGA of Niger State. The state command’s spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement confirmed the development, said the items found in the bag includes one AK-47 magazine, two Madsen LAR rifle ammunition, one A-k47 a bottle of sewing machine oil, two torchlights, paracetamol, four phone batteries, two bottles of balm, a wallet contained N17,310, a bunch of charms and a SIM card.

·         On 20th September. 2024, Police operatives arrest a 17-year-old boy, Wisdom Danjuma, for allegedly robbing a female POS operator at the Lawu Estate, Bosso Low Cost, Mina. The Police spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at Bosso Police Division by the victim. He said the suspect criminally trespassed to the POS shop, pulled out a long knife, intimidated the attendant and robbed her of the sum of N100,000.00.

OGUN ·         On 18th September. 2024, report has it that four passengers reportedly burnt to death while eight others sustained injuries in a road crash around 1400hrs at RCC, Ogbere, Ore-Ijebu Ode Expressway in Ogun State. However, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) acknowledge 18 deaths.
OYO ·         On 19th September. 2024, report has it that a magistrate court in Ibadan, sentenced a 23-year-old man Dare Alanu to nine months for stealing chicks worth 380,000. The Magistrate, Mrs. Oluwabusayo Osho sentenced the suspect after he pleaded guilty to the one count charge of theft.
PLATEAU ·         On 18th September. 2024, gallant troops of Operation Safe Heaven, maintaining peace and Harmony in Plateau and some part of Kaduna and Bauchi State, have apprehended a notorious gunrunner simply identified as Muhammad Sani in a mining area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT)

·         On 17th September. 2024, a commercial cyclist identified simply as Nura, and two others have been arrested by vigilantes for allegedly stealing transformer cables in the Paso community in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. A resident, Shadrack Bala, confirmed the incident.

·         On 19th September. 2024, information has it that “one chance” robber escaped being lynched at Area 11, Garki, Abuja. A witness said that the suspect who drove a Toyota Mazda, attempted to kidnap a woman who he picked up in his car around the Banex Junction, Wuse II Abuja. The passenger identified as Gloria Moses boarded the “taxi” to coney her to Apo, but the suspect diverted to another route upon getting to Area 11, Garki raised an alarm, but the driver tried to divert to another area, passersby intervened and flagged down the car and descended on the driver the suspects were said to be two in number but the other escaped.

·         On 20th September. 2024, report has it that vigilante arrested a farmer, simply identify identified as Kabiru, allegedly harvesting three bags of maize from another man’s farm (Iliya Audu’s) in Tungan-Sarki community, Kwali Area Council of the FCT. A vigilante Saidu Ibrahim confirmed the arrest, said that the suspect was arrested around 0300hrs while conveying the maize to a market in the area. He further said that the suspect confesses to the crime and promise to lead the vigilante to the people he usually sold the maize to.

·         On 20th September. 2024, the report has it that a middle-aged man, identified as Alex has been caught in a hotel in Abuja allegedly trying to use a girl he took to the hotel for ritual. The FCT Police Relation Officer, ASP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, she said suspect is a “yahoo fraudster”.

·         On 20th September. 2024, crowd descended on a man, Samuel Chijioke, for allegedly attempting to swap a woman’s ATM card in Zuba, Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, was yet to comment on the incident.

·         On 20th September. 2024, report has it that three passengers were reportedly killed in a road accident on the highway in Omoko village in Abaji Area Council of the FCT. A witness said the accident involved a truck 18-seater bus two women and a man died instantly. He said the other victims were moved to the General Hospital Abaji by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
