On 18th February 2025, armed gunmen killed 19 people in a renewed attack on communities in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. The President General of Mzough U Tiv Worldwide and leader of Benue’s three major socio-cultural groups Mzough U Tiv, Ochi Idoma, and Om’Ngede-a retired Controller of Prisons, Iorbee Ihagh, confirmed the attacks in Makurdi, the state capital. On 18th February 2025, the Benue State Police Command apprehended two suspected armed robbers in Yogbo village, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. The spokesperson for the command, CSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident. |

On 17th February 2025, report has it that the Edo State Government recorded 13 deaths from the outbreak of Lassa fever across the state. The Director, Public Health in the state’s Ministry of Health Dr. Stephenson Ojeifo, confirmed, said the state has confirmed three cases of Monkey pox (Mpox) but with no mortality. On 17th February 2025, following a crackdown on kidnappers hideout, the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) apprehended 18 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers terrorising the state. The Corps Commandant, ACP Friday Ibadin (rtd), disclosed, he said 38 locally made guns, pellets and several charms were recovered. |

On 18th February 2025, eighty people lost their lives in a crash that occurred in Amala Ngor-Okpala Local Government of Imo State. the Imo State Police Command confirmed the accident which involved a Toyota Camry (EPE 541 JO) and a Hyundai Santa Fe (AAA 212 CD) at about 1845 hrs. |

On 17th February 2025, intelligence-led operations by the operatives of the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended four members of trans-border drug trafficking syndicate which multi-million-naira worth of tramadol pills concealed in the bumper and false bottom of Sienna buses heading to border towns were recovered. The NDLEA’s spokesman, Femi Babefemi, confirmed. |

On 20th February 2025, at least two people have been killed and 10 others kidnapped in bandit attacks at Wushishi and Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State. The Niger State Commissioner for Homeland Security, Brigadier General Bello Abdullahi Mohammed (Rtd), confirmed the attack. On 21st February 2025, at least four people were killed in Agwa village, Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State in a fresh attack by bandits. A resident, Mallam Danjuma, confirmed the attack. |

On 18th February 2025, information has it that crisis rocking Osun State over the leadership of Local Governments escalated as several people were killed following attempts by the sacked All Progressives Congress’s council chairman to resume at their respective secretariats. Governor Ademola Adeleke confirmed the incident. |

On 21st February 2025, six operatives of the Sokoto Community Guard Corps were ambushed and killed by bandits in Sabon Birni Local Government Area. The Special Adviser to the Governor Ahmed Aliyu on security Col. Ahmed Usman, confirmed the incident. |

On 18th February 2025, credible gathering has it that the Police in Yobe State detained two men for allegedly gang raping a 12-year-old girl in Jalingo village, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of the State. The Commands Spokesman, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the apprehension. On 21st February 2025, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Yobe State Command, apprehended 17bbsuspected vandals for their alleged involvement in vandalizing electrical power installations, telecommunications masts and other sundry offences in the state. The Commander, General’s Special Intelligence Squads, AS Dandaura, confirmed the arrest. |

On 19th February 2025, more than 50 traders and customers sustained varying degrees of burn injuries following a gunpowder explosion at a popular Talata Mafara market in Zamfara State. The spokesman for the Zamfara State Police command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident. |

On 17th February 2025, vigilantes operating in Ketti community in Kabusa district in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the FCT, arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly raping a minor in the area. The Commander of the Vigilantes in AMAC, John Samuel, confirmed the arrest. On 19th February 2025, Suspected kidnappers reportedly shot dead two people in their captivity over a delay in payment of ransom in Gwargwada, Kuje Area Council. A member of the deceased family’s Shuaibu Abdullahi confirmed the incident, said the kidnappers demanded N500, 000 for each, but the families were only able to raise N500,000. On 19th February 2025, a joint security team gunned down three suspected Armed robbers, injured three others and recovered an AK-47 rifle in the Federal Capital Territory. The FCT Police Commissioner, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, disclosed. |
