ANAMBRA

On 23rd January 2025, credible intelligence gathering has it that following the governor Prof. Charles Soludo, launched the Agunechemba security outfit (popularly known as Operation Udo Ga-Achi), gunmen kidnapped a medical doctor identified as Dr. Collinus Onuigbo, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital NAUTH), Nnewi. The PPRO of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident.

BORNO

On 22nd January 2025, suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Kawuri village in Konduga LGA of Borno State, killing one civilian JTF identified as Abba Godori and destroyed three patrol vehicles belonging to civilian JTF. The Police spokesman, ASP Kenneth Daso Nahum, could not be reach out as at the time of filling this report.   

EBONYI

On 20th January 2025, following an intelligence gathering, the police operative in Ebonyi State confirmed one person dead with properties worth millions of naira destroyed in a clash between the people of Omege-Agalagu and Ukwuinyima communities in Ikwo LGA of the state. SP Joshua Ukandu, the spokesman of the command confirmed the clashed.

EDO

On 20th January 2025, operatives of the Edo State Police Command arrested two suspects over alleged kidnapping and murder in Edo State. The suspects attacked a man identified as Joseph at Uwore community in front of his house and whisked him into a bush along the Benin-Akure Road. 

 On 23rd January 2025, operatives of the Edo State Police Command apprehended a middle-aged man identified as Gospel Victor, allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in the state. The spokesperson for the Edo state Police Command, CSP Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident. 

GOMBE

On 21st January 2025, following an intelligence gathering, operatives of the Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) apprehended to suspects of various crimes, including Vandalism, theft, escape from lawful custody and sodomy. The Commandant, Gyama Gyawiya, confirmed the arrest.

KADUNA

On 22nd January 2025, information has it that the Kaduna State Police Command apprehended two suspected kidnappers and four armed robbers in separate operations, recovering 50 rustled cows and other items. The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrest.

KANO

On 22nd January 2025, the police operatives in Kano State apprehended two students over the alleged attack on a lecturer identified as Aliyu Hamza Abdullahi, at the Kano State Polytechnic. The Police Public Relations Officer SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the arrest.

On 24th January 2025, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested the ward head of Kabara Quarters in Kano City for allegedly sodomising an underage boy. NAPTIP Zonal Commander, Abdullahi Balarabe, confirmed the arrest.

KOGI

On 22nd January 2025, information has it that shortly after ministering at an ongoing crusade in the town at Ejule in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted three pastors.

On 24th January 2025, following an intelligence, the Joint Task Force (JTF) neutralized some kidnappers, and many fled with injuries during a shootout at Ejule in Ofu LGA of Kogi State. The State Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, confirmed the incident, said 3 kidnapped Kogi pastors, 16 others rescued.  

NIGER

On 20th January 2025, following a fuel tanker crashed explosion at Dikko Junction, a major route between Niger and Kaduna State, claimed eighty-six live with 43, persons hospitalized and others missing. The Director-General Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Abdullahi Baba-Arah, confirmed the incident.   

OGUN

On 24th January 2025, report has it that Ogun State Police Command has neutralized the kidnappers who abducted the wife of Hakeem Odumosu, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police. The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, confirmed the development.

ONDO

On 20th January 2025, detectives from the Ondo State Police Command nabbed a three-member syndicate for allegedly specializing in child stealing and trafficking and rescued 14 kids. The Commissioner of Police un the State, CP Wilfred Afolabi, confirmed the arrest while parading the suspects at police headquarters in Akure.     

OYO

On 23rd January 2025, report has it that a tragic tanker explosion in Ibadan, Oyo State, has killed the driver and injured a motor boy. The General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident.

PLATEAU

On 21st January 2025, the operative in Plateau State intercepted traffickers who lured underaged children from Lantong South Local Government of the state. The Commissioner for Women Affair, Hon. Caroline Panglong Dafur, confirmed the arrest, saying the victims were rescued at the Lagos Park in Jos.

RIVERS

On 21st January 2025, tragedy struck as a passenger boat travelling from Port Harcourt to Bonny in River State capsized at around 1700hr resulting in the loss of three lives. The Chairman of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Rivers Commercial District, Isreal Pepple. Confirmed incident, attributed the mishap to windstorm.

YOBE

On 22nd January 2025, suspected gunmen stormed and killed at least seven people mostly traders and injured 11 others at the Ngalda cattle and main market in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State around 1800hrs. The social media aide for the Fika LGA Chairman, Dauda Yakubu Damazai, confirmed the incident.

ZAMFARA

On 23rd January 2025, credible information has it that troops of the Nigerian Military attached with Operation Fansan Yanma in the Northwest zone oof the country, neutralized Aminu Kanawa, the next in rank to the notorious bandits, Bello Turji. The Outgoing Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba confirmed.

On 24th January 2025, notorious bandit leader Dogo Gide, reportedly killed 20 suspected Boko Haram fighters at a Kwatankoro Forest situated in a village between Niger and Zamfara State. it was captured that ten AK-47 rifles, RPGs, mobile phones and an identity card reportedly linked to Sadiku’s faction recovered.

FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT)

On 20th January 2025, credible gathering has it that a man 43-year-old man identified as Awalu Nura have been apprehended for allegedly attempting to defile a 7-year-old girl at Unguwar Abttior in Gwagwalada Area Council. A vigilante security operative Usman Kabiru confirmed the arrest.

On 21st January 2025, intelligence gathering has it that the operatives of the FCT Police Command apprehended three suspects for alleged murder of one Dan Fulani Ibrahim and stealing the deceased 18 cow. The FCT Police Commissioner, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, confirmed the arrest.

On 23rd January 2025, operatives of vigilantes apprehended two suspected for allegedly stealing diesel from a trailer at Unguwar Dodo junction in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. Yakubu Ibraahim, a member of the vigilante confirmed the incident.
