SECURITY INCIDENCES_
ADAMAWA ·         On 23rd September. 2024, information has it that cholera outbreak in Adamawa State has claimed 12 lives, according to the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Felix B. Tangwami. He said 38 samples were sent to the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) in Abuja for Testing. Out of these, 30 returned positive for cholera, 6 were negative, two are still under isolation and the results for the remaining 12 are pending, he said.
BAUCHI ·         On 23rd September. 2024, operatives of the Police Command in Bauchi State apprehended a 21-year-old scavenger for alleged trespass, vandalism and theft at a Christian Cemetery in Yelwan Kagadama, A suburb of Bauchi metropolis. SP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the arrest, saying that the CP Auwal Musa has ordered his prosecution.
BENUE ·         On 24th September. 2024, a 17-year-old housewife, Nguemo Ikyowe has been reportedly arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly killing her 3-year-old stepson, Vanen Ikyowe, in Ginde village in Guma LGA of Benue State. The NSCDC State Commander, Laraine Bitrus, confirmed the arrest, said the suspect would be transferred to the police.
BORNO

·         On 24th September. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that the Nigerian troop eliminated three terrorist fighters and rescued 16 kidnapped hostages in sweeping operations against terrorists and insurgents in some villages in Borno State. The army troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one light machine gun, two hand grenades, five AK-47 rifles magazines, 200 linked rounds of light Machine Gun and other materials, including money and phones recovery.

·         On 25th September. 2024, information has it that four persons have lost their lives following when a canoe capsized in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State. the Borno State Police spokesman, ASP Kenneth Dawson, confirmed the incident in a statement released.

DELTA

·         On 24th September. 2024, information has it that no fewer than 100 youths suspected to be involved in internet fraud, have been apprehended by military personnel from the 3 Battalion Nigerian Army Barracks at the Army Estate in Effurun, Uvwie LGA of Delta State. The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest but did not provide further details on how the suspects were apprehended.

·         On 26th September. 2024, report has it that the Operatives of the Delta State Police Command has paraded 123 suspected internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Boy,” following their arrest in a military operation led by soldiers from the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army. The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest, said the suspects were apprehended at the Army Estate in Effurun Uvwie LGA of the state.

KADUNA

·         On 23rd September. 2024, operatives of the Vigilantes arrested a suspected bandits informant who disguised as a madman in Kagarko town of Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State. Ibrahim Sayyadi, a resident acknowledged the incident.

·         On 24th September. 2024, a notorious bandit commander, Kachalla Tukur Shame, has been killed alongside several members of his gang in a violent clash with a rival group in a forested area of Kaduna. The Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the incident.

·         On 25th September. 2024, armed bandits have reportedly gunned down two vigilante members and stolen food stuffs at Gidan-Kaura community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A Vigilante personnel from the area, simply identified as Ayuba, confirmed the incident, said the attack happened around 1700hr when the bandits invaded a Fulani settlement and attempted to rustle some cows.

·         On 26th September. 2024, credible information has it that bandits abducted six farmers, four males and two females, at Gidan Busa community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A community leader from the area who preferred anonymity confirmed the invasion and abduction, said the bandits welding weapons, shot and injured two villagers while escaping with the rustled cows.

KANO ·         On 25th September. 2024, Report has it that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano State command, has confirmed the death of five police officers in a road crash that occurred along the Zaria-Kano Road at Karfi Village by the Trailer Park. The FRSC’s spokesman in Kano, Abdullahi Labaran, acknowledged the tragedy. He added, sadly, five lives were lost, and 10 people sustained varying degrees of injuries.
KOGI ·         On 25th September. 2024, Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted two women identified as Mrs. Afolabi Toyin, CEO of Testayo Supermarket and Mrs. Taiwo Hannah Orebiyi, wife of the Chairman, Kogi Tourism Board, around 1830hrs at a gunpoint in phase 11, the Lokogoma estate area of Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
LAGOS

·         On 23rd September. 2024, police operatives in Lagos State apprehended three suspects, including a stepfather, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old-girl in Ago, Okotw area. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State command spokesman, confirmed the arrest. He said that two of the suspects, Chibuzo Benjamin (43) stepfather and Sunday Akpan (51) confessed to the crime, while the third suspect, Okechukwu, denied the allegation (42).

·         On 23rd September. 2024, credible intelligence gathering has it that the Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) incepted 25, 000,000 pills of tapentadol, an opioid three times stronger than tramadol, and 350,000 bottles of codeine-based syrup at the Tin Can Port in Lagos State. Spokesman of the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the seizure in a statement.

·         On 24th September. 2024, the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A of the Nigeria Customs Service, handed over N519 million worth of cannabis sativa and four suspects to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The Controller of FOU, Kola Oladeji, confirmed the development, he said the illicit substances, which were intercepted from different parts of Lagos, were smuggled into the country from the neighbouring West African Countries.

·         On 25th September. 2024, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja Lagos State have apprehended a 48-year-old businessman Christian Ifeanyi Ogbuji, for importing 817 wraps of class A drug weighing 19.40kgs with an estimated street value of 4.656bn. The Spokesman of NDLEA, Femi Babafemi confirmed the arrest.

·         On 25th September. 2024, credible intelligence has that the troops attached to the 81 Division of the Nigeria Army arrested nine suspected members of a criminal gang for vandalizing items belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) at Lagos breakwater. Lieutenant Colonel Olabisi Olalekan Ayeni, acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 81 Division of the Nigeria Army, confirmed the arrest, said the suspects were sighted by a troop on both foot and vehicular patrol.

NASARAWA ·         On 23rd September. 2024, Gunmen reportedly abducted the Village Head of Ahinza in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State, Abubakar Hussaini and demanded a N6 million ransom. Ta relative of the chief, Shuaibu Musa, Said the incident happened around 1400hrs when the monarch was working on his farm. The spokesman of the Nasarawa State Police Command, ASP Rahman Nansel, was yet to comment on the incident.
OSUN ·         On 24th September. 2024, the operatives of the Amotekun Corps arrested three local farmers in Ikaram-Ibrahim Akoko in Akoko Northwest LGA of in Ondo State over kidnapping. The commander of the security outfit, Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the arrest at the Amotekun Corps Headquarters in Akure, said the three suspects were apprehended inside the forest in Akoko, a border town between Ondo and Kogi State.
OYO

·         On 25th September. 2024, the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan reportedly sentenced three persons to death by hanging for the murder of Col Anthony Okeyin, the Commandant, Nigeria Army Secondary School, Apata lbadan. Justice Ezekiel Ajayi also sentenced the three to 14-years imprisonment each for the offices of conspiracy and armed robbery.

·         On 26th September. 2024, following a heavy downpour, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)has confirmed the death of one and two persons missing in the flood incident around the Joyce-B/Mobile Area of Ibadan. This was disclosed by the NEMA South-West Coordinator, Mr. Kadir Olanrewaju.

PLATEAU ·         On 23rd September. 2024, operatives of the Plateau State Police Command have paraded a suspected car thief, Kabiru Muhammad 34-year-old, in Jos North LGA. The spokesman of the command, DSP Alabo Alfred, confirmed the arrest.
YOBE ·         On 23rd September.2024, a 24-year-old man, Yunusa Isa, apprehended by the police operatives in Yobe for allegedly killing his employer and business partner, Lawan Adamu (28), in Nayi Nawa Ward in Damaturu, Yobe State. The police spokesman in the state, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the killing, said the suspect confessed at the CID That he killed his employer because he could not repay him a N500,000 loan.
FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT)

·         On 24th September. 2024, armed bandits raided a “Tipper Garage’ in Maple town in Abuja killing one Imam, Ahmed Maidara, who tried to escape the scene through another path and abducting a popular transporter identified as Alhaji Salisu Danfulani. The national president of the Nigeria Union of Mine Workers (NUMW), Comrade Hamza Muhammad, confirmed the incident.

·         On 24th September. 2024, a commercial motorcyclist, simply identified as Nasiru, has been strangled to death by suspected hoodlums in the Pegni community in the Kuje Area Council. A resident, Ibrahim Saleh, said the incident happened around 2000hrs near a cashew plantation.

·         On 25th September. 2024, information has it that two people sustained minor injuries in a tanker fire incident that happened in Abuja, the FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Muta’ah Chorrie, confirmed the incident, said the incident involved a Petrol Tanker and Toyota Sienna.

·         On 26th September. 2024, information has it that the Directorate of Road Traffic Service (DRTS), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has said it impounded 9,389 vehicles for various traffic offences in the last eight months. This was confirmed by the Head, Public Relations and Enlightenment of the service, Mr. Kalu Emetu.
