On 28th June. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that Adamawa State Police Command has taken into custody the Chief Intelligence Officer (CIO) of Peace Corps, Zayyad El-Muhammad, after he threatened to take his own life over his withheld N20,000 monthly allowances. The spokesman in the state, SP Sulieman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the arrest.

BAUCHI
|
- On 27th June. 2024, the Bauchi State Police Command arrested Glory Samuel 24-year-old, for allegedly betrayed the trust of his neighbour by defrauding a well-known businessman of N120 million. The command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, confirmed the arrest. He said items recovered from the suspect include eight tricycles (Keke Napep), N35 million cash, two uncompleted buildings, 60 bags of cooking charcoal,30 bags of fertilizer, two motorcycles and two industrial sewing machines.

- On 25th June. 2024, credible information has it that the Police in Benue State recued 9 kidnap victims. They were abducted from a vehicle while traveling along the Ojano-Oglewu road, near Otukpo Local Government Area. The Police Public Relation Officer, Benue State Command, SP Cathrine Anene, confirmed the development and added that some of the kidnappers were apprehended.
- On 26th June. 2024, armed militia operating in rural communities mostly farmers taxed Torough community of Ukum LGA in Benue State N20 Million. The Police Public Relation Officer in the state, SP Catherine Anene, denied knowledge of such matter. Meanwhile, Victor Loorzaa, the chairman of Ukum Local Government Area, confirmed and said, “it is true, I have reported the matter to the police and the State Security Council. The person behind it is full fire, who connived with armed herders recently to attack Tiv people. He has been working with invaders. He is a bandit.”

- On 25th June. 2024, report has it that Boko Haram insurgent abducted Justice Haruna Mshelia, a High Court Judge, alongside his wife, driver and orderly, along the Buratai-Buni-gari road Jabi town as Justice Mshelia was returning to Maiduguri, where he serves at the Borno State High Court. The Borno Police Command confirmed the abduction. The Police spokesman, ASP Nahum Daso, said no contact with the terrorists yet, the police are implementing all necessary security measures to ensure the successful rescue of the kidnapped individuals.

DELTA
|
- On 24th June. 2024, suspected kidnapper involved in armed robbery and kidnapping along the Adjekota-Ogar axis of Ughelli North LGA of the State reportedly killed by the Police in Delta State. The incident took place during a gun duel with the hoodlums at their hideout in an abandoned filling station along the Ughelli-Patani Road. The command recovered arms and ammunition from the diseased. The PPRO, Bright Edafe, confirms the development.

- On 28th June. 2024, report has it that the troops of the Nigerian Army deployed for counter terrorism operations, engaged in gun battle between the suspected IPOB terrorists and the troops which led to the recovered of sophisticated weapons. Furthermore, at least five members of IPOB in Ebonyi LGA have been reportedly killed by the operatives of the state police command.

|
- On 24th June. 2024, gunmen suspected to be cultists in Edo State reportedly killed an official of a New Generation Bank identified as Nosa, at the Reservation Area of Benin City, the State Capital.
- On 24th June. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) discovered a snake-guarded shrine used to store illicit drugs such as methamphetamine, Loud, Colorado and Arizona, all strong strains of cannabis with a total weight of 8.743kgs, were pulled out of from the deep hole dug in the wall of the shrine at Igor community, Benin City, the Edo State. The spokesman of the agency Mr. Femi Babafemi confirmed the development.
- On 25th June. 2024, operatives of the Edo State Police Command arrested five suspects, Omoregbe Prosper (35) and Emmanuel Osayande (34), Osahenrumwen Aigbedion (36), Iria Nicholas and Oba Friday over alleged cultism. The State Police Commissioner, Funsho Adeboye, said the suspects were arrested by the anti-cultism unit of the command.
- On 28th June. 2024, two farmers identified as Osemuanta Iluobe and Emmanuel Ehizuenlen Oziegbe, that were allegedly kidnapped in the state by suspected bandits were rescued by the operatives of the Edo State Police Command. The Commissioner of Police in the State Funsho Adeboye, confirmed the development, he said the victims were kidnapped at Ugbengun forest, Esan Central LGA.
- On 28th June. 2024, woman identified as Esther Alu, have been rescued by the Police in Edo State from suspected ritual killers. Suspects identified as Osarobo. O, 25, Eboigbodin Jude, 24 and Maxwell Osagie, 24 were intercepted by the police at hotel in Benin City during an alleged ritual process, different type of charm recovered. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Funsho Adegboye, confirmed the arrest and victim rescued.
- On 28th June. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that two suspects, Evans Ojiezele and Choice Ebhijaghe, specialised in fabricating guns at the Uromi and Ubaiaja axis were apprehended during a sting operation by the operatives of the anti-kidnapping and cybercrime unit following credible intelligence. The Commissioner of Police in the State, Funsho Adeboye, confirmed the arrest. He listed the items recovered from the suspects include five pump-action guns, 25 locally made guns, 9 rounds of live cartridges gun manufacturing tools, a one native bulletproof vest among others.

JIGAWA
|
- On 28th June. 2024, report has it that a clash between farmers and herders in Kalai village, near Baranda Forest in Jigawa Stat, left 3 persons injured and six others rescued. According to the Police Public Relations Office, Jigawa State, DSP Shiibu Adam, said the incident occurred, when the herdsmen attacked farmers and released their cattle onto their farmland, leading to a confrontation.

- On 24th June. 2024, information has it that two members of a vigilante group sustained bullet injuries during exchange of gunshot with some bandits who attempted to rustle cows at Iddo community, near Janjala in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Meanwhile, a suspected bandits informant identified as Rabilu was reportedly arrested by troops at Kagarko Market. The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the incident at the time of filling this report.
- On 25th June. 2024, bandits beheaded a local hunter Garba Sarki, at Dogon-Daji village in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State. A member of the vigilante group from Kagarko, simply identified as Haruna, said “the man had been given the bandits tough time. In fact, few months ago the hunter engaged them in a gun duel and even killed two of them”. The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, did not respond to enquiries sent to him on the incident, up till the time of filing this report.
- On 27th June. 2024, report has it that bandits launched attacked on local vigilantes’ camp in Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna State. The attack which occurred left 3 local vigilante dead and over 20 farmers abducted. The Kaduna State Command’s spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, could not be reached for comment.
- On 27th June. 2024, 73 cows belonging to the chief imam of Gidan Makeri, Malam Zubairu Ibrahim, have been rustled by armed bandits who came in their large number in Kagarko Local Government Araea of Kaduna State. The imam was at Kagarko. But as God would have it, the cows were later retrieved by some vigilantes from the neighbouring Kuchimi village, who went after the bandits. Hassan Mansur, spokesperson Kaduna State Police Command yet to confirm the incident.
- On 28th June. 2024, six teenagers reportedly drowned in river near Kiteriya village, also in Kauru LGA of the state, while returning to their respective homes after writing the Junior Secondary School (JSS3) Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The victims, identified as Manasseh Monday (16), Musa John (16), Pius David (15), Monday Ayuba (16), David Danlami (19) and Yahuza Audu (16). Comrade Simon Ishaku Chinge, who is a National Public Relations Officer of the Ribang Community Development Association, described the tragedy as “extremely distressing’ for the families of the deceased, state and nation at large.
- On 28th June. 2024, intelligence report has it that Kaduna State Police Command said a total of nine bandits were neutralized and 70 suspected kidnapers arrested in the state within two months, & 73 armed robbers arrested, five AKA 47 rifles were recovered from the suspects arrested. The commissioner of Police CP, Audu Dabigi, disclosed this while parading the suspects at the headquarters.

KANO
|
- On 24th June. 2024, following an intelligence gathering, the police in Kano State arrested 16 persons in connection with the rising cases of thuggery in the Sharada-Jaen and Dala Quarters. The Police Public Relation Officer in the state, SP Haruna Kiyawa, noted that two of the suspects were behind the killing of a vigilante commander at Sharada-Ja’an Quarters Muktar Garba, adding that the command is hunting for other suspects.

KATSINA
|
- On 24th June. 2024, report has it that armed bandits in their numbers ransacked Maidabino, the third largest town in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing about nine people, abducted 50 persons mostly women and children and destroyed 10 houses, 15 shops and at least nine vehicles burnt down by the marauding terrorists. The police spokesman in Katsina State, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the incident, he said investigation ongoing and further developments would be communicated in due course.

KWARA
|
- On 25th June. 2024, credible information has it that the Kwara State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it had arrested 363 suspects and recovered 495.166 kilograms of narcotics between January and June this year. The State Commander of the Agency, Mohammed Ibrahim, disclosed this while speaking on the activities lined up ahead of its drug week in Ilorin.
- On 25th June. 2024, report has it that a fridge repair identified as, Yunusa Abdullateef, hanged himself over an alleged theft of a motorcycle in Ilorin, the kwara State Capital. It was gathered that the incident occurred penultimate week around Ile Alfa Iwo, before Ita Ogunbo, Ode Alfa Nda. The police spokesperson, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident.
- On 28th June. 2024, a resident of Ile Olowo Poku, Oloje area identified as Tayo Akanji Abdulrahman, 22-year-old, who was sent on errand by his mother reportedly found dead in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. The police spokeswoman, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the incident, she said investigation is still ongoing to determine whether it was a case of suicide or murder.
- On 28th June. 2024, information has it that ten fraudsters have been convicted and sentenced to various jail terms over internet fraud in Kwara State. Also, the court also ordered that all the phones and laptops used to perpetrate the crime and various sums of money recovered be forfeited to the Federal Government. They were prosecuted by the Ilorin Zonal Directorate oof the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) before Justices Evely Anyadike, Adebayo Yusuf, and Mahmud Abdulgafar of the Federal and State High Courts respectively.

- On 24th June. 2024, information has it that the policemen from the Ojo Division of the Lagos State Police Command arrested a 29-years-old Nura Abilya with 40 parcels of Arizona, preparing the illicit substance for distribution inside the Alaba International Market. The Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said Nura was arrested based on credible information received.
- On 26th June 2024, seven people died and 11 sustained injuries in a collision between an unmarked truck and a Mazda bus with registration number MNY 894 YN along Lagos Ibadan express way. The spokesperson Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta, said 18 people involved in the clash, but seven died while 11 sustained injuries and were taken to PATMAG Hospital in Ogere for medical attention.
- On 26th June 2024, report has it that the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Adegoke Fayoade, disclosed that hundreds of tricycle operators have been arrested for violating state’s traffic laws. He made this disclosure while declaring open a one-day train-the trainer workshop organised for area traffic and divisional traffic officers, with the theme; “Improving Leveraging on Emotional Intelligence Skills.” in Lagos.
- On 28th June. 2024, information as it that Nick Imudia, former Chief Executive Officer of Konga, an e-commerce giant has allegedly killed himself. Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident but did not give details.

NASARAWA

- On 26th June 2024, report has it that at least four people reportedly killed, and scores of others injured following a community land dispute around the Nasarawa-Benue border communities housing the indigenous Alago and Tiv farmers in the area in the Keana LGA of Nasarawa. The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel confirmed the incident, he explained that officers of the command had been drafted to the local government area to restore normalcy.

NIGER
|
v On 24th June. 2024, report has it that the police in Niger State arrested along Maikunkele road one Zingfa Nambon a resident of Gwagwalada, Abuja who specialises in tricycle snatching and killing of operatives in Minna the state capital. The spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrested of the suspect along side others. He added that the suspect confessed to the crime, adding that he was arrested with various blank receipt and cable wire.
v On 27th June. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that the Police in Niger State nabbed 3 persons Alhaji Abdullahi Kasimu, (68), Alhaji Baba Mohammed, (30), and Ahmadu Mohammed, (25), in Gadza village, Katcha Local Government Area of the state, for allegedly brutalising the chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Danlami Abdullah Saku, over a debt amounting to over 1 million naira. The spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the development. He said the three suspects have been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the command.

v On 25th June. 2024, report has it that a 16-year-old boy identified as Dimeji, an apprentice barber has reportedly died after being swept away by flood in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. when contacted, the police spokesman in the state said he is not aware about the incident.
v On 26th June. 2024, the police in Ogun State arrested a 45-year-old man, Lekan Akinyemi, with a human skull, allegedly meant for ritual purpose. In a statement disclosed by the spokesman, Omolola Odutola, in Abeokuta, the state capital, he added that the suspect was apprehended by a team from the police divisional headquarters, Adatan.

SOKOTO
|
v On 25th June. 2024, bandits reportedly killed Professor Yusuf Sa’idu, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development of Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. The incident occurred along Kucheri in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, while traveling from Sokoto to Kaduna. The University confirmed his death. “A man of integrity, religion, dedication and courage”, the University described his demises as a “painful loss”.
v On 28th June. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that troops of the Nigeria Army deployed for counter-terrorism operation in Sokoto State responded to a destress call from the Baniguntu and Gohonau forest area in Gudu LGA of the state and engaged terrorists in a fierce gun battle and foiled a kidnap attempt, neutralising and rescuing two hostages held by them. Five AKA 47 rifles, 32 rounds of ammunition and a Tecno phone recovered. This is contained in a post on the official X handle of the Nigerian Amry.

|
v On 27th June. 2024, information has it that Zainab Isah (22), have been arrested by the Yobe State Police Command, for allegedly killing her husband Ibrahim Yahaya (25), with a knife when argument broke between them, at Abbari ward, Damaturu the state capital. The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkareem, made this known in a statement while parading the suspect.

FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT)

v On 24th June. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that the FCT Police Command paraded six suspected ‘one chance’ robbers identified as Abubakar Adams, Ismail Salisu, Yusuf Bello, Nasiru Sa’idi, Sani Usman and Ibrahim Kasa. The FCT Police Commissioner, CP Benneth Igweh, confirmed the arrest. He added that the criminal elements were arrested by operatives of the Utako Divisional Headquarters.
v On 25th June. 2024, intelligence gather has it that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has arrested four suspects, all residents of Apo, a satellite town of Abuja in connection with the killing of retired army Brigadier General, Uwem Harold Udokwere, at Sunshine Homes Estate in Kabusa, Abuja. The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Rabiu, Nafiu Jamil, Aliyu Abdullahi and Muhammad Nuhu were paraded by Benneth Igweh, the FCT Police Commissioner, at the command headquarters in Abuja, following credible intelligence information from the Utako Police Division, led by CSP Victor Godfrey.
v On 26th June. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that the FCT police command apprehended a Point of Sale (POS) seller known as Dan Gweri, who specialised in supplying sex workers to bandits in their camp, as well as distributing money to their families in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State. Benneth Igweh, Commissioner of Police FCT confirmed the development. He added that the suspect was arrested during a coordinated clearance operation by Operatives of the anti-kidnap unit of the command at Kagarko, the suspect further confirmed that the bandits, led by Ardo (general commander), have over 15 members, all with AK- 47 rifles.
v On 26th June. 2024, report has it that FCT Police Command arrested a 41-year-old housewife, Ruqquaya Ibrahim, who allegedly supplies foodstuff and other logistics to the bandits. The commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, confirmed the arrest and revealed that the suspect was arrested at Gidan-Dogo forest on her way to supply food to the bandits, adding that she led the where 14 rustled cows were recovered.
v On 27th June 2024, a report has it that a young scavenger identified as Nura 23-year-old reportedly manhandled by a mob for allegedly stealing a port of rice at Kango community in kuje Area Council of FCT. The spokeswoman of the FCT police command, SP Adeh Josphine, yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
