· On 21st August. 2024, report has it police operatives in Akwa Ibom State have allegedly assaulted and arrested family heads, wives, and children in Ikot Isong village in Etinan LGA over the death of a woman in a prayer house. The policemen from Ikotakpan Abia, headquarters of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, stormed the village arrested some people, forcing many people to flee the village. |

· On 20th August. 2024, two suspected armed robbers lynched by a mob in Bauchi State after they were accused of killing a commercial motorcycle operator and stealing his bike in Misau LGA. SP Ahmed Wakil, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, confirmed the murder of a 25-year-old commercial motorcycle operators Muhammad Mamuda Baba Jibir. |

· On 19th August. 2024, information has it that the attack carried out by the heavily armed bandits in alleged collusion with external armed invaders, reportedly risen to 74 persons with many others injured. The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Benue State Command, SP Catherine Anene, had initially confirmed the incident. · On 19th August. 2024, the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has directed security operatives in the state to intensify efforts and ensure the safe releases of the 20 medical students who were reportedly abducted in the state. it was gathered that the students were ambushed by gunmen along the Otukpo-Enugu highway in Benue State while on their way to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) Annuel Convention in Enugu State. · On 23rd August. 2024, the enforcement team of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) has arrested one illegal checkpoint operator on Akpagher Road in Gboko LGA over allegedly extorting farmers. The acting Executive Chairman of the BIRS, Emmanuel Agema, confirmed the arrest, said that the arrest was effected when the team went on a sensitisation of traders in Gboko markets. |

· On 19th August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that the troops of the Nigeria Army in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) engaged in a heavy gun battle, reportedly killed three Boko Haram terrorists, including a commander Abu Rajab, during a raid in Sambisa Forest in Borno State. · On 22nd August. 2024, soldiers attached with operation Hadin Kai in the North East of Nigeria bombarded some terrorists enclaves in Borno State and killed five of its commanders, and 35 fighters. The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, disclosed this in a statement. |

· On 20th August. 2024, operatives of the Delta State Police Command apprehended five suspected members of the Black Axe cultists in Ughelli North LGA. The spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe, acknowledge the arrest, said the operation was led by DPO of Ofuoma Division. He said that items recovered from the suspects were three locally made cut-to-size guns, one axe, 12 live cartridges, seven expended cartridges, eight phones and two cross bags. · On 21st August. 2024, two students oof the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe, Oghara, in Ethiope West LGA have reportedly been apprehended by the police operatives over cultism. SP Bright Edafe, the spokesman of the command, confirmed the arrest, said the two students are Ovoke Benedict (22) and Fredrick Urhoborume. Edafe said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were suspected to be members of the Arrow Barger confraternity. |

· On 19th August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that the Edo State Special Task Forces on cultism has reportedly arrested suspected secret cult leader, a butcher of secret cult confraternities and 10 others over cultism. The taskforce spokesperson, Chris Nehikhare, confirmed the arrest, said the suspects were apprehended at Auchi Polytechnic community and Benin City between. · On 20th August. 2024, two suspects Adodo Irorehe (62) and his brother, Godwin Isaac Irorehe (40) apprehended over an attack on police officers and dealing in illicit drugs in Edo State by Raider Squad operatives of the Edo State Police Command. The command’s spokesman, SP Joel Moses Yamu, confirmed the arrest. · On 21st August. 2024, operatives of the Edo State Police Command arrested a couple over an assault on their maid with inflicted injuries, simply identified as Precious on the Ikpoba Hill near Benin City in Ikpoba Okha LGA. The spokesman of the command, Moses Joel Yamu, confirmed the arrest, said the victim is currently undergoing treatment while investigation continues. |

· On 20th August. 2024, information has it that unidentified assailant in Enugu State, reportedly killed four policemen at the popular Four Corner Junction, Ozalla, in Nkanu West LGA. A former Information Minister and 2023 All Progressive Grand Alliance governorship candidate, Dr. Frank Nweke Jr., condemned the attack, describing it as an act of wickidness. · On 19TH August. 2024, five students from the Enugu State College of Health Technology in the Oji River Local Government Area have been reportedly abducted by armed men. The Enugu State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the incident, said the police responded, managing to rescue two abducted students. He assured that a vigorous operation had been launched to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the kidnappers. · On 22nd August. 2024, the Enugu State Government reportedly demolished property, including uncompleted story-building with an underground tunnel used by kidnappers for detaining their victims on the outskirts of Enugu the state capital. |

· On 20th August. 2024, no fewer than 30 people have been killed and 9,366 others displaced by severe flooding in Jigawa State, the floods have also ravaged 7,379 hectares of land and affected 4,699 houses. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) had forecasted severe flooding in 18 LGAs of Jigawa State, and this prediction has unfortunately come to pass. |

· On 20th August. 2024, information has it that the gallant soldiers gun down two suspected bandits, recused a pregnant woman and her two children in Maraban Jibo community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A hunter, simply identified as Garba, who was part of the operation, confirmed the incident, said soldiers went to the bandit’s camp with six motorcycles and rescued the victims. · On 20th August. 2024, operatives of Kaduna State Police Command rescued two farmers in Kuriga village after its personnel thwarted a kidnapping attempt. The command swift into action and arrested a notorious gunrunner and an informant. The Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the development, said at about 0630hr officers from the Police Mobile Force (PMF) stationed in Kuriga responded to gunfire on the village outskirts. · On 21st August. 2024, operatives of the anti-kidnapping unit successfully intercepted two male suspects in possession of a fabricated AK-47 refiles at Madaci village, Zarai. ASP Mansir Hassan, the spokesman of the command confirmed the arrest, said the suspects are Abulaziz Habibu (25) and Nuhu Thomas (25), both residents of Dawa, Birnin Gwari LGA. · On 22nd August. 2024, armed bandits raid Galadimawa village, Igabi LGA of Kaduna State reportedly abducted the wife and two children of the village head Alhaji Aliyu Haruna. Hussaini Umar, the Sarkin Fada Galadimawa and a traditional leader, confirmed the incident, expressing distress. Meanwhile, the State Public Relations Officers, ASP Mansir Hassan, promised to provide details. · On 22nd August. 2024, report has it that two herders reportedly shot dead and several cows, and sheep rustled after bandits invaded a herder’s camp in Kurutu village in Kachai LGA of Kaduna State. A resident of nearby Azzara, Shehu Aliyu, confirmed the incident, added that they armed bandits invaded the village around 1700hrs killing two persons. · On 23rd August. 2024, villagers at Sabon Birnin Daji in Igabi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State reportedly have accused soldier of killing three persons and 100 cows at a weekly cattle market. The Nigeria Amry has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident. |

· On 19th August. 2024, two siblings reportedly killed in a building collapse in Dambata Local Government Area of Kano State as a result of heavy downpour. The incident happened while the family was asleep, causing the part of their two-bedroom house to collapse, this was confirmed by grieving father Mallam Ikramatu Dambata. · On 19TH August. 2024, information has it that six residents, Alhakatu Abdulkarim and her five children; Bashir, Firdausi, Hafsat Usman and Jamilu of Karkari village, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano died after eating Danwake, a local Hausa delicacy. SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the death, said six members of the family who ate the food were rushed to Gwarzo General Hospital where they were confirmed dead by doctors · On 22nd August. 2024, four persons from Kauran Mata village in Madobi LGA Kano State have been reportedly confirmed dead after the canoe they were traveling in with 12 other people capsized. The incident occurred when the victims were returning from Karfi town in Kura LGA where they worked as rice processors. The spokesman of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the incident. |

· On 20th August. 2024, armed bandits stormed Gyaza village in Kankia LGA of Katsina State around 1000hr, firing indiscriminately killing one Salisu Ango, the liaison officer to Governor Umar Dikko Radda, along with his wife and abducted 28 others including his second wife. Katsina State Police Authorities confirmed the attacks in Kankia. |

· On 19th August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that three security operatives were shot as gunmen ambushed three traveling vehicles along Osi/Obbo-Aiyeguncle Road in Kwara State. The state police spokeswomen, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident in a statement, said the abductors, numbering about 10, reportedly abducted the 202 occupants inside the commercial vehicles and forcefully marched them into the surrounding bush. · On 20th August. 2024, tragedy truck in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as four members of a family including a mother and her three children, passed away after consuming a rice meal, while their father who ate from the rice meal, has been admitted for tests. Report has it that the incident occurred in the Oshin area along Asa Dam Road. Speaking on the tragedy, Alhaji Jagunmolu Adinmi, confirmed the incident. · On 22nd August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that the security operatives found the corpse of one Miss Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old, student of Kwara State College of Health Technology Offa, allegedly killed for ritual, at a dump site in the Aleniboro area of Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital, after she was declared missing on the August 09, 2024. |

· On 19th August. 2024, information has it that two suspects Jefferson Emeka Joshua, (47) and Donatus Okoro, (45) were arrested by detectives from the Lagos State Police Command. The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest, he said the vandals confessed that they could remove the brain box of any vehicle in less than two minutes. · On 20th August. 2024, a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos ordered the remand of a 65-year-old man, Idris Danladi, for allegedly defiling a one-year-old girl. Report has it that the Chief magistrate, Mr. Patrick Adekomaiya, ordered that Danladi should be remanded in the Awarjigohh Correctional Centre, Badagry, after he pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of defilement. · On 23rd August. 2024, report has it that a Lagos State-based businessman, Felix N. Nnadozie, has alleged that his 27-year-old son, Felix Ugo, was hacked to death by suspected cultists led by the sons of a police officer. The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, did not comment on the issue even when a copy of the petition to the CP was sent to him. |

· On 23rd August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that q 17-year-old female Miss Mercy Dauda, student of the Federal Government Science and Technology College (FGSTC), Doma, the headquarters of Doma LGA of Nasarawa State, has been declared missing. |

· On 19th August. 2024, report has it that a gang of kidnappers, abducted seven people in Gauraka community, located off Abuja Kaduna express way, in Tafe LGA of Niger State. The Commander of the security vigilante in the area, Sabo Abdullahi, confirmed the incident, he listed the seven victims as proprietor of the hotel, his younger brother and his wife, the manager, as well as three other guests. |

· On 22nd August. 2024, following reports of ongoing criminal activities, security operatives conducted a raid operation on a suspected bandits hideout two days after the body of a abducted police officer was discovered by soldiers inside a bush in the Gudiri area, Wase LGA of Plateau State. Three soldiers confirmed dead in the operation and more than 15 bandits were killed. A youth leader in Wase, Shafi’i Sambo, confirmed the incident. · On 23rd August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that residents of NEPA community in Jos North LGA of Plateau State have apprehended a suspected kidnapper who collected a N 1.5m ransom from the relatives of the abductees. The spokesman of the state’s police command, DSP Alabor Alfred confirmed the incident, said the suspect was at the anti-kidnappers unit. |

· On 19th August. 2024, information has it that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), intercepted 892,400 bottles of codeine-based syrup worth N6.2bn in the street value, from five containers in an operation carried out by NDLEA operatives, officials of the Nigeria Customs and other port stakeholders at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex Onnie, River State. Femi Babafemi, spokesman of the agency, confirmed the arrest. |

· On 22nd August. 2024, the District Head of Gatawa, Isa Muhammed Bawa, who was reportedly abducted alongside others family members has reportedly died in captivity. Shuaibu Gwanda Gobir, the Magajin Garin Sabon Birni and cousin of the victim, confirmed the death, saying, “ it is true that Sarki has died. |

· On 22nd August. 2024, report has it that two women and two children traveling from Mayoreneyo town in Ardo-Kola LGA to Belengo town in Karim-Lamido, died when their engine boat capsized on the Benue River in Taraba State. |

· On 23rd August. 2024, bandits attacked Moriki community in Zamfara State, kidnapping over 10 residents and demanding a ransom of N50 million. ASP Yazid Abubakar, the police spokesman, confirmed the incident, said the Commissioner of Police has directed operatives to take immediate action to rescue the victims. |

· On 19th August. 2024, information has it that a Vietnam-bound businessman, Paul Okwuy Mbadugha has been apprehended by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja after he tested positive to ingestion of cocaine. The spokesman of the agency, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the development. · On 19th August. 2024, operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command following a raid arrested no fewer than 93 suspects on some criminal hideouts. The CP Benneth Igweh, disclosed this while parading the suspects at the command in Abuja, said a pistol with 17 live ammunitions were recovered. Added that the suspects were arrested during coordinated raid on some black spots by police operatives at Apo, Idu, Nyanya, Karimo, Byazhin, Gwarimpa and Mpape, all Abuja suburbs. · On 19th August. 2024, three abducted victims were rescued after fierce gun battle between police operatives of the FCT Police Command and suspected kidnapers at a forest, which borders FCT and Nasarawa State. The FCT Police Commissioner, Benneth Igweh, disclosed this when he reunited the victims with their families at Rubochi Police Divisional headquarters. · On 20th August. 2024, report has it that the corpse of a man reportedly found by the roadside in Piri village in Kwali Area Council of FCT along the Abuja-Lokoja Highway. It was gathered that a farmer, Isaac Musa, who discovered the corpse, said he was on his way to the farm around 6000hr when he saw the corpse with bruise on the face and hands. The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josphine Adeh, could not be reached for a statement on the incident. · On 20th August. 2024, a farmer simply identified as Reuben Adamu, has been reportedly hacked to death by suspected herders in Rubokya community in Kwaku Ward in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. A resident, Samson Zacharia, confirmed the incident, said, the incident happened around 1100hrs. · On 21st August. 2024, a Volkswagen Golf with registration number FST 491 EZ, reportedly crushed an Argentine, Bettoli Juan Ignacio, on the Abuja Niger Road in Tungan Usman village near Old Gawu in Abuja Area Council of the FCT. The Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, acknowledged the accident, said the corpse had been deposited at University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH). · On 21st August. 2024, operatives of the FCT Police Command have reportedly arrested a man, Micheal Uke, who allegedly snatched a Toyota Corolla with registration number, ABC 258 LD car at gunpoint on May 2, 2024, on Kuje-Airport highway. The Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, confirmed the arrest, said the suspects had replaced another plate number on the vehicle with Reg No AGD 146 JP. During the search a POP machine, a knife and a military jungle hat were discovered in his possession. · On 23rd August. 2024, report has it that Yahuza Sani, driver with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) was reportedly stabbed to death by suspected phone snatchers near the popular Sahad Stores supermarket by the CBN Junction in the Central Business District of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja · On 23rd August. 2024, operatives of the FCT Police Command have impounded 29 vehicles with covered number plates and those without number plates in Abuja. The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, disclosed and added that 106 suspects were arrested during a raid on some criminal hideouts across the territory. |

ZAMFARA | · On 13th August. 2024, bandits reportedly killed two drivers and abducted scores of passengers in two drivers and abducted scores of passengers in two separate attacks in Magazu village Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The Zamfara State Police Commissioner, CP Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, confirmed the attack. |
FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT) |
· On 12th August. 2024, two suspected hoodlums apprehended while stealing maize at a farm along Yimi-Machadna community near Zuba Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. A member of the vigilante group in the area said the incident happened around 11pm when the suspects invaded a large maize farm, which belongs to one Malam Rabiu Gambo. · On 15th August. 2024, report has it that two hoodlums arrest for allegedly stealing tubers of yam in Dogon-Ruwa community in Gawu Ward in Abaji Area Council of the FCT. A resident, Ismaila Umar, confirmed the incident, said the owner of the farm identified as Gimba, caught the suspects and alerted other farmers who came and apprehended them and handed them over to vigilantes. · On 15th August. 2024, a suspected motorcycle thief has been reportedly set ablaze by mob along Gyeshe village in the Kwaku ward of the Kuje Area Council of the FCT. A vigilante who preferred anonymity confirmed the incident, lamenting incessant cases of motorcycle snatching in the area. · On 16th August. 2024, information has it that there was apprehension in Shere community in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, following a purported letter dropped by bandits threatening to carry out an attack on the community. The effort to speak with the FCT police command’s spokesperson, SP Josphine Adeh, were not successful up till the time of filing this report. · On 16th August. 2024, a man identified as Muazu Bala, reportedly stabbed his friend to death over a handset they claimed to have found furring the last huger protest at Unguwar Tipper garage inn Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. Shehu Usman, a resident of the area and also a vigilante personnel, said the incident happened around 1030hr |
