· On 26th August. 2024, one person has been confirmed dead after a speed boat carrying 15 passengers traveling from Yenagoa to Oporoma capsized in Okubie community in Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State. The Chairman of the Maritime Workers Union in the area, Mr. Ipgansi Ogoniba who confirmed the incident, said other passengers on board were rescued by concerned citizens, one person drowned due to the rising water level. |

· On 26th August. 2024, it was gathered that no fewer than six people have been reportedly killed in two attacks in Agatu LGA of Benue State. A resident who requested anonymity said, the armed invaders attacked Iwari community and struck Olegagbane killing 6 and leaving several others injured. The chairman of Agatu LGA, Philip Ebenyakwu confirmed the incident. · On 26th August. 2024, two men, John Terna Aga and Kwaor Terse were arrested and arraigned for allegedly vandalising and stealing a billboard belonging to the Benue State Internal Revenue Service at Makurdi magistrates’ court. Jacintha Bernard, the media assistant to the acting chairman of BIRS confirmed the arrest, and further state that the suspects were arrested in Kutcha-Utebe community in Makurdi LGA by youths while they were digging out the BIRS billboard. · On 27th August. 2024, a woman, Theresa Awuhe has been reportedly shot to death in Gyayo Villa of Makurdi, Benue State. The state police spokeswoman, SP Catherine Anene confirmed the incident and said the security operative has commenced investigation. · On 29th August. 2024, enforcement team of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) has arrested two suspects Tarbee Mdzemon and Abende Mdzerungwaan, over alleged illegal checkpoints in Ikyoor Iyuwanyam Council Ward of Ishangev Tiev in Konshisha LGA. The media assistant to the Acting BIRS chairman, Jacintha Bernard confirmed the arrest, stressing the fact that the suspects were arrested during a special excise, and they were handed over to the police. |

· On 30th August. 2024, Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) arrested two suspects for allegedly supplying illicit drugs, uniforms and flag materials to the Boko Haram and Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) insurgents in Lake Chad region. The spokesman of the MNJTE, Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba who confirmed the development said that the troops also rescued three women, and a baby suspected to be family members of the terrorists. |

· On 26th August. 2024, operatives of the Zone 5 Police Headquarter Benin, Edo State, arrested two suspects, Godday Ebhodahe and Ehichoya Omoiwade, with 31 guns in Ileh community in Ekpoma, Esan West LGA. The zone’s spokesman, DSP Tijani Momoh who confirmed the arrest, said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were in business of selling and renting firearms to kidnappers, armed robbers and cultists. · On 27th August. 2024, credible intelligence has it that police operatives apprehended four men for allegedly stealing items from a new generation church, Alter of Mercy, in Okhua community along the Benin-Agbor Road in Ikoba Okha LGA of Edo State. The State police spokesman, SP Moses Yamu, confirmed the arrest, and said that the items that was stolen includes speakers, musical instrument, a fan, among others. He further said the suspect confessed to their crime. |

· On 26th August. 2024, health intelligences have it that a waterborne disease has claimed the lives of at least five people in Diginsa Ward in Birniwa LGA of Jigawa State. Hamza Audu, a resident of Fulani Dallha expressed concern over the rapid spread of the illness. Also, in response to the outbreak, the Jigawa State Ministry of Health dispatched a team of medical personnel to the affected areas to prevent further spread. · On 27th August. 2024, the Jigawa State Police Command reportedly arrested 22 suspects in connection with criminal activities including vandalism, rustling, fraud and armed robbery. The command’s spokesman, DSP Shiisu Adam who confirmed the arrest, said the suspects were found to be in possession of a range of exhibits including two vehicles, four motorcycles, six cows, 50A4 papers, fake dollar, N59,820 and vandalized cables. · On 28th August. 2024, a tea vendor, Abdulrashibu Ya’u (40) was arrested for allegedly beating one Hassan Barba (20) to death in Sararai village in Dutse LGA of Jigawa State. The state’s police spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam said a patrol team went to the scene, arrested the suspect and rushed the victim to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. |

· On 26th August. 2024, a health team from the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Board and representatives of the World Health Organisation (WHO), confirmed the death of three children due to a suspected diphtheria outbreak in Tukur settlement in Zaria LGA. The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Bello Yusuf Jamo conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the area. · On 27th August. 2024, suspected hoodlums abducted seven farmers in Kankarami community in Anguwar Barde village, along the Kaduna- Abuja highway. The community leader who sought anonymity confirmed the abduction and noted that all the victims were men. Attempts to reach the PPRO of the State command, ASP Mansir Hassan was unsuccessful. · On 27th August. 2024, Police nabbed two notorious rustlers identified as Aminu Saleh 25-years old and Jafar Ibrahim 24-years old, at Kasuwar Magani area in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State. The spokesman of the command, ASP Mansir Hassan acknowledged the development, said police operatives acted on incredible intelligence, he added that the arrested individuals, Umar Baso, Shehu Fulani and Babangida Abdulkarim who are informant to bandits were apprehended · On 28th August. 2024, report has it that bandits shot dead a vigilante, Saleh Aliyu and abducted four farmers in Nasarawar Azzara community near Katari in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A resident who is a community leader who craved anonymity, said the incident happened around 17:00hrs when bandits attacked farmers on their way from the farm. · On 30th August. 2024, troops on a fighting patrol in the Kampanin Doka area neutralized seven bandits and also neutralized one more in Gayam and recovered several items, including three AK-47 rifles, eight AK-47 magazines, four empty and four loaded with 120 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one magazine carrier, six motorcycles, three mobile phones, two Baofeng radio sets and three pairs of civilian clothes. The District Head of Matusgi, Alhaji Ciroma Muhammad, confirmed the incident. · On 30th August. 2024, bandits shot dead three people and rustled 160 cows in Katambi, near Azzara in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A community leader who preferred anonymity confirmed the incident, said the bandits also abducted the owner of the cows, Sayyadi Ibrahim, his child and two others. |

· On 27th August. 2024, report has it that the police command thwarted two bandits’ attacks rescuing five kidnapped victims and neutralizing two suspected kidnappers. The command spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said that the distress call was received regarding bandits attack on Layin Minister village in Malumfashi LGA, where five people were kidnapped. The police operative swept in action neutralized some bandits and recovered the suspected arm bandits. |

· On 29th August. 2024, operatives of the Nigeria Customs (Service) intercepted 1,153 parcels of Indian hemp hidden in fabricated compartments and other components of a DAF truck with registration number T-25750-LA, in the Yamboa axis of Bukuro in Baruten LGA of Kwara State. the Area Controller, Faith Mathew Ojeifo confirmed the arrest, described the vehicles as a wonder truck. |

· On 28th August. 2024, prince Demola Akinloye (50), the son of a traditional ruler in the Lekki area, reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen. The spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident, said the incident happened around 1200hrs on Chevron Drive near Bourdillon Court Estate while the victim was driving his Toyota Corolla. · On 29th August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that Naval Officers attached to the Nigerian Navy Ship, BBS BEECROFT, have apprehended four Ghanaians suspects Monday Pongne (30), Eegbe Philip (31), Godswill Favour (29) and Agbedo Gomeda, with 288kg of Indian hemp worth N216 million on the Lekki waterways in Lagos State. · On 30th August. 2024, detectives from the Lagos State Police Command arrested 39-year-old spare parts dealer, Monday Julius while he was dismantling a stolen Toyota Yaris in Oshodi as it was allegedly stolen from where it was parked in the Ilupeju area. The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest. |

· On 27th August. 2024, report has it that gun men reportedly killed a primary school teacher, Yakubu Mohammed and abducted two of his children alongside others resident at Lokogoma community in Gadabuke District in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State as seven other residents were also abducted. The chairman of Toto LGA, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, confirmed the incident and condemned the attack. |

· On 27th August. 2024, report has it that a pastor with the Redeemed Christian of God (RCCG), Favor Gbenga, and two of his children have been abducted from his compound in Kuchiko Ijah community in Tafa Niger State. A resident who preferred to remain anonymous said the incident was coming after another resident, simply known as Ajayi, a civil servant was released about a week ago after a N20 million and two motorcycle were given to his abductors. · On 28th August. 2024, report has it that a violent clash between farmers and herders in Beji, Bosso LGA of Niger State, has reportedly claimed the lives of five people, including three siblings. Aliyu Mohammed, a resident confirmed the incident and said the situation has caused significant fear within the community. The spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun stated that he will provide details after gathering more information. · On 30th August. 2024, gunmen reportedly shot a businessman Godiya Ishaya and abducted his 15-year-old daughter in New Bwari community in Tafa LGA of Niger State. A resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, said one of the kidnappers jumped into the man’s house around 1200hrs before the others joined him and dragged the man out of the compound, trilled him shot him before cutting him with machetes, leaving him in the pool of his blood. |

· On 26th August. 2024, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested two suspects, Modashiru Nasiru (18) and Hassan Yaya (19), over illegal mining in Oke-Igbo community in Ile-Oluji LGA of Ondo State. The corps’ spokesman in the state, Daniel Aidemenbor said the duo were arrested through intelligence. · On 29th August. 2024, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo State Command reported that 16 people were burned to death and five others were injured in a tragic road accident at Ajue village, located Between Ondo and Ore, in Odigbo Local Government. The Sector Commander, FRSC Ondo State, Samuel Ibitoye confirmed the incident in Akure. |

· On 26th August. 2024, report has it that bandits have abducted 0ver 150 persons and rustled over 1,000 cattle in some villages in Gobir Emirate of Sokoto State. The incident reportedly happened after the death in kidnappers’ den, of Emir of Gobir, Alhaji Isa Muhammed Bawa who was also the district head of Gatawa. The Police Public Relations Officer, Sokoto State Command, SP Ahmed Rufa’i said it has not been received a report on such abductions but promised to reach out to Sabon Birni Divisional Office. |

· On 29th August. 2024, soldiers have reportedly arrested four people in possession of agricultural empowerment implements including 30 planters, four threshers, five water pumps and eight solar panels distributed by the Yobe State Government. Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Rtd), the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, confirmed the development. |

· On 29th August. 2024, report has it that at least 37 bandits were reportedly killed in Matusgi village, Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, after residents engaged a gang that had invaded the village with the intent to abduct locals. According to an anonymous resident, the bandits arrived on motorbike around 1400hrs, aiming to carry out abductions, but the villagers repel back where they managed to inflict significant casualties. |

· On 26th August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that two police officers and a trader were reportedly killed, and five other policemen injured around Wuse market, Abuja, during afresh clash between the police and members of the proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shiites. The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Josphine Adeh, in a statement, confirmed that two police officers were shot dead during the fracas. The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, vowed to end further protest. · On 26th August. 2024, report has it that hoodlums scaled the fence of ta house and stole a motorcycle in the Naharati area in Unguwar Sabon-Tasha in Abaji Area Council of the FCT. A resident, identified simply as Yakubu, confirmed the incident, said the incident happened around 0500hr when the owner of the motorcycle had gone to Mosque. · On 26th August. 2024, 13 -year-old Fulani girl has been reportedly raped to death by alleged local miners at the Tipper Garage area in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josphine Adeh, confirmed the incident, said seven suspects arrested. · On 28th August. 2024, a man Shuaibu Bala, has reportedly been stabbed on his way to the mosque and his phone snatched leaving the man in the pool of his blood in the Ikwa area in Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. A resident, Ibrahim Saidu, confirmed the incident, said some hoodlums blocked him and inflicted injuries on him before snatching his phone. · On 28th August. 2024, information has it that suspected motorcycle snatchers stabbed a farmer, Markus Baba, to death and escaped with his motorcycle near Farakuti village in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT. Samuel Barnabas, a resident, confirmed the incident. The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, was yet to comment on the incident. · On 29th August. 2024, intelligence gathering has it that the FCT Police Command has paraded a Naval Officer, Abdulrashed Muhammed (30), who allegedly killed Aminu Ibrahim, son of a former Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), late Rear Admiral Ishaya Ibrahim, during a stop and search operation. The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, confirmed the arrest, said the suspects killed the son and escaped with the with his Prado SUV from River Benue Street, Maitama, Abuja. · On 30th August. 2024, operatives of the Rubochi Divisional Police Headquarters in Kuje Area Council of the FCT and vigilantes have rescued a tipper driver, identified simply as Musa, and three labourers from kidnappers. A police officer, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the rescue of the victims, but the command’s spokeswoman, SP Josephine Adeh, could not be reached for comment. |

OSUN | · On 14th August. 2024, police operatives apprehended six suspected armed robbers and recovered two vehicles. The command’s Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the arrest, said it was a breakthrough, adding that the suspects would be prosecuted. |
OYO | · On 14th August. 2024, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed that 16 people were killed in accident along the Ojo-Iwo Road sanction of the Lagos-Ibadan highway, near the Agbowo/Ajao are in Ibadan, Oyo State. The FRSC spokesperson in Oyo State, Mayowa Odewo, said the accident occurred when a trailer carrying roofing sheet lost control and collided with an 18-seater Hummer bus, a Micra taxi, and a Honda CR-V. |
SOKOTO |
· On 12th August. 2024, suspected terrorists reportedly ambushed soldiers along the Kukurau-Bangi Road in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State while on patrol around 4pm, killed four soldiers, with two others injured. The Defence Media Operations, Major-General Edward Buba, acknowledged the incident, said the attack was carried out by terrorists from Niger Republic. He added, at about 2345hrs, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI encountered an ambush by terrorists at the general area of Bachaka Kurya Forest in Gudu LGA of Sokoto State. · On 12th August. 2024, report has it that a family of 7 died after easting cassava delicacy at Runjin Barmo village of Kajiji District in Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The village head, Muhammadu Modi Magajin Runjin Barmo, confirmed the incident, said the victims were Malam Abubakar, his wife and their five children. |
TARABA | · On 13th August. 2024, seven travelers including a driver were reportedly killed by gunmen along Takum-Wakari Road. The acting Police Public Relations Officer Taraba State, DSP Kwache Gambo, confirmed the incident, said a lecturer at Federal University Wakari and Deputy Registrar of Taraba State School of Health Technology, Takum were among the passengers killed by the gunmen. |
ZAMFARA | · On 13th August. 2024, bandits reportedly killed two drivers and abducted scores of passengers in two drivers and abducted scores of passengers in two separate attacks in Magazu village Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The Zamfara State Police Commissioner, CP Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, confirmed the attack. |
FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT) |
· On 12th August. 2024, two suspected hoodlums apprehended while stealing maize at a farm along Yimi-Machadna community near Zuba Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. A member of the vigilante group in the area said the incident happened around 11pm when the suspects invaded a large maize farm, which belongs to one Malam Rabiu Gambo. · On 15th August. 2024, report has it that two hoodlums arrest for allegedly stealing tubers of yam in Dogon-Ruwa community in Gawu Ward in Abaji Area Council of the FCT. A resident, Ismaila Umar, confirmed the incident, said the owner of the farm identified as Gimba, caught the suspects and alerted other farmers who came and apprehended them and handed them over to vigilantes. · On 15th August. 2024, a suspected motorcycle thief has been reportedly set ablaze by mob along Gyeshe village in the Kwaku ward of the Kuje Area Council of the FCT. A vigilante who preferred anonymity confirmed the incident, lamenting incessant cases of motorcycle snatching in the area. · On 16th August. 2024, information has it that there was apprehension in Shere community in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, following a purported letter dropped by bandits threatening to carry out an attack on the community. The effort to speak with the FCT police command’s spokesperson, SP Josphine Adeh, were not successful up till the time of filing this report. · On 16th August. 2024, a man identified as Muazu Bala, reportedly stabbed his friend to death over a handset they claimed to have found furring the last huger protest at Unguwar Tipper garage inn Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. Shehu Usman, a resident of the area and also a vigilante personnel, said the incident happened around 1030hr |
