SECURITY INCIDENCES

BENUE

·         On 22nd April 2026, according to information from independent sources, at least five people have been killed in an attack on Tse Ameen community in Gwer West LGA of Benue state. Residents said the attack occurred when suspected armed invaders stormed the community at night.

·         On 24th April 2026, credible intelligence reveal that, an NYSC member has been beaten to dead by members of a community vigilante group in Buruku LGA of Benue state. The chairman of the LGA confirmed the development while condemning the killing of the young man.

BORNO

·         On 24th April 2026, credible information has it that, Boko Haram insurgents have killed 18 farmers and wood sellers on farmland in Gwoza town, Gwoza, Borno State. Sources said the attack occurred when victims were clearing their fields in preparation for the rainy season.

DELTA

·         On 20th April 2026, credible accounts updates that, the Delta State Police Command had arrested a female drug baron and recovered large quantity of illicit drugs in her possession. The suspect was apprehended following a raid on drug hideout in the Ugholo community.

·         On 20th April 2026, intelligence update disclose that, operatives of the Delta State Police Command have rescued kidnapped victims and arrested five suspects in connection with the abduction of travelers in the state. The appropriate for the command, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement.

EDO

·         On 22nd April 2026, insights from field reports has it that, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have shot a man and abducted his girlfriend in Edo State. The incident occurred along the Auchi-Igara road in Etsako West LGA when victims were traveling.

·         On 23rd April 2026, intelligence update disclose that, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted for persons in separate attacks in Edo State, with a N30 million ransom demanded for two of the victims. The incident occurred in Itsorkwi and Imeakabu communities in Etsako West LGA of Edo State.

KADUNA

·         On 22nd April 2026, reports available from credible sources indicate that, bandits have reportedly shot dead two people while abducting seven others during a raid in Awon community in the Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A source from the area confirmed the report through telephone.

·         On 22nd April 2026, findings from independent observed indicate that, four people have been confirmed dead after a container feel off a moving trailer and crushed a commercial tricycle along the Nnamdi Azikiwe expressway, Kaduna. Eyewitness said the container detached from the moving trailer and landed on the tricycle, killing the rider the three passengers.

·         On 24th April 2026, credible sources reveal that, gunmen have killed five people and injured two others in an attack on hunters office in Gidan Waya community, Jemaa LGA of Kaduna State. A residents said four victims were members of the Hunters Association while the fifth was a civilian.

KOGI

·         On 22nd April 2026, reports available had it that, the Nigerian Army have arrested two suspected terrorist logistics couriers and recovered a large cache of ammunition in Kogi State. The Army Public Relations disclose this in a statement in Lokoja.

·         On 23rd April 2026, external reports have confirmed that, gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed a member of the local vigilante group in Yagba West LGA of Kogi State. Residents said the incident occurred when the deceased and other vigilante members engaged the bandits while attempting to rescue some kidnapped victims.

LAGOS

·         On 20th April 2026, updates from reliable sources indicate that, operatives of the NDLEA have intercepted large parcels of cocaine concealed in the false bottoms of food flasks. A statement by the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi said further investigation identified suspects who was subsequently arrested in a follow up operation.

OGUN

·         On 20th April 2026, external reports have confirmed that, the police in Ogun State have arrested a security guard and two others for alleged conspiracy and vehicle theft in the Ibafo area of the state. The commands’ spokesperson disclosed this in a statement issued in Asaba.

PLATEAU

·         On 22nd April 2026, information from verified sources has it that, angry women from Gashish community have destroyed a security checkpoint near Lassa in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State. The checkpoint has been set up to maintain law and order along the highway and surrounding communities.

SOKOTO

·         On 22nd April 2026, verified accounts claim that, three people have been killed and four others seriously injured following a late night attack by suspected bandits on the Gorau community in Goronyo LGA of Sokoto State.

YOBE

·         On 24th April 2026, updates from reliable networks suggest that, troops of Nigerian Army have repelled a midnight stack by suspected insurgents in Kukareta, Yobe State, killing 24 of them in a fun battle the Media Information Officer confirmed this in a statement.

FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT)

·         On 20th April 2026, credible sources report that the FCT Police command has parades 14 suspects over alleged vehicle theft and announced the recovery of 17 stolen vehicles across Abuja. CP Mohammed Sanusi said the suspects were arrested between March and April 2026 for their involvement in car theft at various locations within the FCT.
